A big thank you to all that attended the ball on Saturday night. It was amazing and you were all fabulous, just fabulous! I was doing a lot of running around and only allocated 17 minutes to enjoy myself, but I actually had 24 minutes of unadulterated fun!

DID YOU HEAR ME ON BBC LONDON RADIO TALKING ABOUT THE GRAND VINTAGE BALL?
I went on the internets and found the link to my BBC London Radio interview about the Grand Vintage Ball & Vintage Attire Pageant this Saturday. How many times did I say fabulous?!http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p007j6ml/Saturday_Breakfast_01_05_2010/

WE LOVE THE BROCKLEY UKULELE GROUP!
They're currently running tings on the uke-cover, comedy-folk suburban-core music scene of London. They meet, jam and perform regularly with an ever-changing line-up and an ever-increasing repertoire, so you'll never see the same set twice!
See them live at the Grand Vintage Ball this Saturday. My favourites: Rawhide and Daft Punk's Stronger - amazing!

Dear Darlings, Dare-doers and dastardly Dukes and Duchesses of fashion,
End of the month pre-pay day blues? Me too, t’is ruddy rubbish.Fear not Sweethearts and fellow slaves to the wage, help is at hand!
If you venture to London’s quaint Greenwich Village, and pop in to The Beehive on Creek Road you can get your Early Bird tickets for the not so princely sum of £10! Just say the magic words/ quote the reference ‘Grace Kelly’.
To be clear this offer will not be available on the door or online. Honesty is the best policy you know. Failing that, why not trot down to this Sunday’s ‘My Vintage Affair – a vintage fair’ at Oliver’s Bar in Greenwich from 12 and get your hands on your early bird tickets while picking up the perfect outfit for the ball. Two birds, one fabulous outfit and all that.
Now that's put a cherry on your ice cream sundae… talking of which, not to brag but one of our fabulous Dj’s, designer extraordinaire Julian J Smith designs were featured not once but *twice* in last week’s Grazia! And if that wasn’t enough to wet our whistle, this week, the ever alluring Jonny Demonique could be seen in action in this month’s Bizarre magazine!
To experience the pleasures of the flesh that Mister Smith and Mister Demonique provided under one roof, without the media involvment, you know what you need to do…
Looking forward to seeing you there, looking decidedly unsquare.
Cheerio! x

LONDON'S FIRST EVER GRAND VINTAGE BALL & VINTAGE ATTIRE PAGEANT
An evening of where fascinators, fancy frocks and fabulous cabaret stole the show...Furs, frocks and all manner of vintage fripperies flounced to the music of several decades at the first ever Grand Vintage at the Rivoli Ballroom on Saturday 26 September.
1950's jivers sized up glam 70's disco queens and 80's retrosexuals at the ball offering fine London folk an opportunity to don their best vintage and retro outfits.
Contestants in the Vintage Attire Pageant competed fiercely for the first prize of a bottle of Babycham and quality satin rosette. Categories included, Dictators wife, Retrosexual, and most dapper gentleman.
Tunes from Buddy Holly, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Whitney Houston and Erasure encouraged revellers of all ages throw serious shapes on the dancefloor.Disc jockeys on the night included designer extraordinaire Julian Smith and femme fetales the She Set. Comperes on the night - the fabulous alternative cabaret act Bourgeois & Maurice who grilled contestants on everything from their most hated celebrity to most embarrassing moment, revealing a lot more than a vintage corset in the process.
The next ball will be held at the Rivoli on Saturday 8 May!
For more information go to http://www.umiandco.com/ or call 08453 708 078
P.S Apologies in the delay in this post. I think I had 'post event depression'...
